Περιεχόμενα
Ήταν αναμενόμενο πως ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος με το Poor Things θα είχαν μεγαλύτερη απήχηση στη Βρετανία και στις υποψηφιότητες των BAFTA που ανακοινώθηκαν πριν λίγο, ο Έλληνας σκηνοθέτης έκανε προσωπικό ρεκόρ με 11 υποψηφιότητες, με το Oppenheimer για ακόμα μια φορά να είναι πρώτο με 13, αφού ο Κρίστοφερ Νόλαν είναι δικό τους παιδί. Έκπληξη με ταινία που μάζεψε 9 υποψηφιότητες, πολύ χαμηλά η Barbie.
Πιο συγκεκριμένα, το Poor Things και ο Λάνθιμος είναι υποψήφιοι για BAFTA Καλύτερης Ταινίας, BAFTA Καλύτερης Βρετανικής Ταινίας, Μοντάζ, Προσαρμοσμένο Σενάριο, Μουσική, Φωτογραφία, Κοστούμια, Παραγωγή, Make-up/Μαλλιά, Οπτικά Εφέ και έχει την υποψηφιότητα της Έμμα Στόουν για BAFTA Ά Γυναικείου.
Το Oppenheimer όμως έχει τη μερίδα του λέοντος και δείχνει πως θα είναι πολύ δύσκολο να πέσει κάτω από τις 8 κατακτήσεις.
Η έκπληξη προέκυψε από την ταινία Zone of Interest που είναι μεν πάρα πολύ καλή, αλλά δεν περιμέναμε πως θα έχει 9 υποψηφιότητες για BAFTA. Ακόμα περισσότερο, όταν δεν έχουν υποψηφιότητα στα BAFTA ο Σκορσέζε στη σκηνοθεσία, ο ΝτιΚάπριο στο ‘Α Ανδρικό και η Λίλι Γκλάντστοουν (που πήρε τη Χρυσή Σφαίρα) στο Ά Γυναικείο για το Killers of the Flower Moon που έχει 9 υποψηφιότητες BAFTA. Το παράδοξο είναι η υποψηφιότητα του Ντε Νίρο στο Β’ Ανδρικό.
Πολύ καλή απόδοση είχαν, τέλος, οι ταινίες Anatomy of A Fall, The Holdovers, Maestro, All of Us Strangers και Saltburn, ενώ η ταινία Barbie βρέθηκε χαμηλά με μόλις 5 υποψηφιότητες στα BAFTA.
Η απονομή των βραβείων θα γίνει στις 18 Φεβρουαρίου στο Λονδίνο, με παρουσιαστή τον Ντέιβιντ Τέναντ.
